One of us can talk investment properties, numbers, and growing a portfolio all day long. The other will probably be asking how you’re doing, remembering your kids’ names, and making sure nobody gets lost in the process.

As it turns out, that’s a pretty good combination.

We built Welcome In Realty around both. Because a house can be an investment and still be someone’s home. An owner can want to build wealth and still care about the people living inside that investment. A vendor can be more than someone you call when something breaks. And property management can be professional without feeling impersonal.

Melissa Hauan

Melissa Hauan is a Texas native. At an early age, Melissa knew she found joy in helping others. With the goal and vision of helping and serving people in mind, she earned her certification to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, while going to school to be a Registered Nurse; although that career was short lived. In 1999 her interest peeked into the real estate industry after landing a job working for a property management company. She took interest in the market’s evolution and ever-changing trends and was fascinated by the idea of home ownership, an opportunity that should ideally be available to everyone. With each day presenting new opportunities and challenges, Melissa decided to obtain her real estate license and make real estate her full-time job.



Melissa, often gets praise for serving her clients no matter the time or day and attests her success to good old fashioned phone calls and client communication. In addition to availability, she offers clients clarity. “I want people to feel empowered in the home buying/selling process. By providing people all the pertinent facts, scenarios, and possible outcomes they ultimately make the decisions that are right for them.”

Outside of real estate, her passion is family. Together her and her husband, Ron, have 4 amazing children and 2 grandchildren, she cherishes her family moments and holds them close to her heart. “Whether you are coming to Central Texas or leaving on your own adventure, it would be a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with you” 

Ron Chipkin

Ron Chipkin, a native New Yorker and military brat, arrived in Texas while serving in the U.S. Army, and Fort Hood was his last duty station. Since separating from the military he became a Texas real estate license holder in 1994, and earned AAS degrees in both Real Estate and Management/Marketing from Central Texas College in 1997. Ron wanted to continue to serve Central Texans’ real estate needs, and tested for his real estate Broker’s license in 1998. In 2011, he completed additional education courses, and now holds the title, Graduate, REALTOR® Institute. Rounding off his formal education, Ron finally earned a BAAS Degree in business from Texas A&M-Central Texas in 2019. “Better late than never”, he jokes.

Ron married the love of his life, Melissa Hauan, in 2026, and together they are pursuing business adventures, including the recent opening of Welcome In Realty. He has one daughter, Kaitlyn Chipkin, from a previous marriage, and enjoys spending time with family, billiards, coin collecting, and metal detecting. He has served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Greater Central Texas Federal Credit Union since 2021.

Ron believes that helping others achieve their goals will always move you toward achieving your own, and “pays it forward” where he can.
